GBJAM: Catherine’s Post

Catherine’s Post at x3 the size.

  Year: 2014

Size: 160 pixels by 144 pixels

  Palette: 4 Colors

These are the characters of my GBJAM entry. The game took just a handful of hours to build and needed to fit these criteria: use the Gameboy Resolution and a palette of 4 colors. It was an intense 6 days but a lot of fun too!

Catherine’s Post and its characters were imagined by my 3 years old daughter, Daphnée .

The game is playable at GAMEJOLT for free!

Ecstatic about 4 shades of gray

Last weekend, I’ve helped a good friend of mine moving from his rather large apartment, where we used to live together, to his brand new condo.

Anybody who lived in a large place knows that there are good chances you’ll amass a lot of crap you don’t need. So by moving to his new place, which is much better but also smaller, he had to throw a lot out. I gladly accepted to save some shared memories (read: steal his stuff) because that’s what friends do.

I was very excited to bring home 2 incomplete boxes of the board game “Hero Quest”, which hopefully will become one complete set once merged together. I saved Nes, Snes and n64 games, a gameboy pocket with games, my snare drum, the second pedal of my double bass drum pedal, loads of warhammer fantasy battle figurines and 2 crowns made from cardboard and duct tape…don’t ask…

A Gameboy! That’s amazing stuff! I had to sell mine when I was a boy and I’m happy to have one back! Of course my friend can always reclaim it. I won’t give it to him though…

Have fun! I will! 🙂
